Bath Monkey

The signs for bath and monkey are pretty similar, so we are having trouble telling if he wants us to sing the monkey song or take a bath, but we're excited that he's signing more words every week!
Tonight he definitely signed "bath" as we got ready for the tub!!!!!!

Are you there Spring?

We've had a teaser of spring time weather (with two days of summer thrown in) and we've been so happy to get outside! After a long winter, we are so ready for sidewalk chalk, bubbles and swings! We're super excited for Porter to really experience outdoor play and all it's benefits. In case you can't tell from the photos, he is too :) We imagine once he learns the sign for outside, we'll see it all the time, asking to play outside all the time, just like his sister!

A Trip to the Dentist

Both kiddos visited the dentist this week. The hygienist was amazing- she showed Penny each tool, explained what she'd be using it for and let her touch and hold them so it wouldn't be so scary. She got to choose her flavors of toothpaste and fluoride. She picked watermelon and banana and told the hygienist that her brother would like those too. Penny was brave and seemed like such a big girl throughout her exam. The dentist came to look for princesses inside her mouth. She didn't mind and I think she wanted him to find one :)
Porter was not a huge fan of his first dental exam. He didn't want to sit in the chair and didn't like the taste or texture of the toothpaste. But overall, he did better than Penny did at her first visit last year. I hope that by the time we go back, he will forget this. I'll sit in the chair with him next time.
Both kids received a clean bill of dental health. And mommy and daddy were happy with the experience!

My little helper

Little Miss Penny has really become my little helper...she loves to help feed Porter, give him his cups and help him play.
I love it!
Watching the two of them play together is so much fun. I love to see her get down on his level and say "hi Porter" and try to teach him things. I have to watch, because she wants to share her food with him. And he wants to take whatever she'll give him :)
