I Can Help Him

Penny is our little helper these days.
She watches us so closely and then asks for a chance to do it all on her own.
She is like a mini-therapist some times, asking Porter to work hard and helping him have fun while doing it. She wants him to play with her!
It's pretty cool to see them in action together :)

Go Fish!

Porter is very interested in his flash cards these days.
He loves the sensory aspect, but he also loves that he can chomp on them and they don't fall apart :)
Most of all, he loves when sister takes the time to come play flash cards with him :)
Fun!

A Typical Saturday Morning

Weekends are mine again :) I missed this during year end! French toast anyone?
 Let's pretend!
 And work hard!
More weekends please! These two are so much fun right now :)

Disney on Ice...Oh My!

We were incredibly lucky...we got some Disney on Ice tickets from our neighbor's company. Grammy, Penny & I went to see the show.
Penny was amazed!
She has been dancing around like a princess from the moment we got home!
Box seats...we are very thankful!
Belle was our favorite! Penny has been pretending with her classmates too...every day when she comes home, she tells us that one of the girls was Belle and that her friend Leo was the Beast, but that he turned into a prince :)
For a girl who has never seen a Disney movie, she picked up the story lines pretty quickly...it was an amazing show! We're incredibly thankful for the opportunity and look forward to many more fun memories in the years ahead!

Fun with Grammy & Pa

Where did December go? Seriously...how is January more than half way gone? Time is flying...I guess we've been having fun. Grammy & Pa visited for Christmas. The kids had a blast. Grammy helped Penny make some snowflakes for our back windows.
 Pa helped Porter eat...faster Pa!
 It was a great visit!
Look at those smiles :) They make me smile!
I swear Porter owns more than just this one outfit...but it was so cute, with Santa on the tush, that I couldn't help but wash it every other day so he could wear it again!
Look at these Thompson men...they had a great Christmas!
 Little show off!
 Playing Pat-A-Cake with Grammy...again!
Playing with the manger...I keep meaning to take a picture- since the Princess Castle arrived in our home on Christmas day, Jesus, Mary and Joseph have upgraded from the stable to the Castle :) I love hearing Penny as she tells baby Jesus that it's time for bed!
 Cookies for Penny & Porter!
 Decorating cookies is fun!
 Happy boys!
Thanks so much Grammy & Pa for making the trip to PA for the holidays! Can't wait to see you again soon!

Sequencing according to Penny

First you get a cup, then you get some ice, then you get some water, then the ice melts and it gets cold, then you get a straw, then you drink some, then you spill it, then you get a napkin to wipe it up, then you get some more water!

Hop on Pop and Other Bedtime Fun

Bedtime is one of mommy's favorite times of day. Our little giraffes and silly monsters love bedtime too. They splash like crazy kids together in the tub, where Penny helps scrub her brother. They get all warm and snuggly in winter jammies. Penny would read the same books each night (current favorites are Baby Dear and The Bernstein Bears Come Clean, a book about hand washing that makes this germ-a-phobe mom smile) and would read as many as possible if we didn't stop her after two (because shes two). Porter LOVES turning the pages and eating his cloth version of The Little Engine That Could (thanks Liam!). Then it's off to dream land for our snuggle bugs. The laughter of bedtime is the best part of my day!

Happy New Year

We have a feeling that 2013 is going to be a great year.
We've got so much to look forward to with these two amazing kiddos!
We're ready for some new adventures!
 Happy New Year to all!
